Shadwell Estate is a diverse and historically significant rural landholding to the south and east of Thetford. Rooted in the ancient Breckland countryside of Norfolk and Suffolk, it comprises 6,500 acres of farmland, woodland, lakes, watercourses, and areas reserved for nature. Shadwell is a place to live and work in nature.
The Estate is one part of a wider portfolio of property and holdings across the UK, with a predominantly equestrian purpose.
At Shadwell we are focused on developing our estates, farms and equestrian assets to ensure we support our local communities and thriving rural enterprises, whilst continuing to support the Shadwell Stud to produce world renowned racehorses, stallions, and provide the highest quality of equine care.

Our emerging Concept Masterplan sets out a long-term vision for sustainable placemaking – honouring the Estate’s rich heritage while creating lasting value for the natural landscape and local community, with wide-ranging proposals including new homes and employment spaces around Thetford.
